Yoga is a part of life for many here in Breckenridge, and classes are available to suit almost every yoga style and preference: Whether you’re looking for classic Vinyasa, a gentle beginner class, a heart-pounding workout or a chance to take your practice outdoors, you’ll find an array of welcoming options offered by local instructors and studios.

Here’s a sampling of classes at yoga studios where you can find your balance  — and your new yoga home. Namaste.

THE CLASSICS.  A yoga purist?: Stop by Blue Lotus Yoga for Bhakti Yoga with Cooke Fisher, combining Vinyasa Yoga with a study of the Yoga Sutras. Or sign up for Kundalini at Meta Yoga with instructor Melinda Krasowski. Andrea Frye of Samadhi Healing enhances personal yoga instruction with an Iyengar-style focus on alignment.

THE WORKOUT.  So you want to sweat? Meta Yoga’s Hot Core Fusion and Hot Power Flow focus on core strength and more challenging poses. Or try Core Fusion or Yoga Sculpt at Blue Lotus Studio. Taking it to the fun side is the Breckenridge Recreation Center’s Summer offering of Yoga Beat – a hybrid class that incorporates elements of dance and yoga.

STRETCH AND RELAX.  To wind down at the end of the day, try Late Night Yoga at Meta, or Candle Light Yoga at Blue Lotus. Samadhi offers individual instruction combining a gentle yoga practice with Thai massage. During the winter, most studios offer après ski yoga classes to stretch and lengthen sore muscles after a day on the slopes.

WHAT ABOUT KIDS & SENIORS?   The Breckenridge Recreation Center is the ideal place for any member of the family who wants to try a first yoga class. Most classes are gentle and extremely beginner friendly. Plus, the classes at the Rec Center are affordable. For Kids, try Meta’s Kid Yoga, while Blue Lotus has a special price for kids and welcomes children to beginner classes.

TAKING IT TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS.  Meta Yoga offers an extensive program of summer outdoor specials – from SUP Yoga on beautiful Maggie Pond and Lake Dillion to a variety of scheduled outdoor practices. Samadhi Healing in conjunction with Breckenridge Grand Vacations can plan personalized Mountain Yoga for individuals and groups. Blue Lotus also offers outdoor classes in River Park in Breckenridge and their SUP Yoga classes on Maggie Pond, Lake Dillon and at Frisco Marina will begin at the end of June.

In other words, it’s a convenient way for members of the family to get a yoga class as a free add on to a full day at the rec center with swimming, exercise or a selection of other activities.
