What does it take to fall in love with Breckenridge, CO, enough to travel from the U.K.? Meet Adam Pickett, a 24-year-old ski enthusiast from London, England. Pickett’s first time skiing was in the Kinder Hut at the Breckenridge Ski Resort at the age of 4. He spent numerous snowy family Christmases in Breckenridge and during his university years, he tried to ski as much as possible, organizing trips to the French Alps with his friends and spending a season at Cardrona in New Zealand where he trained to be a ski instructor.
So what made him decide to book a trip to Breckenridge? Pickett started to see GoBreck and a few of the professional skiers he follows on Instagram using hashtag BreckBecause and was reminded of his past vacations to Breckenridge. And after few glasses of wine with his girlfriend Fi and reminiscing about his childhood trips to Breckenridge, their trip to Breck was booked for Christmas 2013. We followed his trip from London to Breckenridge on Instagram and found out a little bit about his experience here.
Favorite runs at Breckenridge:
Horseshoe bowl, Windows, Ore Bucket and Centennial. “I love to be challenged when I ski, whether by big open bowls or tight tree lines!”
6 Chair. “The runs that come off the 6 Chair are incredible – it makes the slightly “old school” chairlift journey worth it!”
Favorite restaurant and meal:
Mi Casa . “The steak fajitas!”
Peak 8. “All of the peaks at Breckenridge are great in their own way but the diversity of skiing available at Peak 8, from steep and scary chutes off Imperial to the long and wide blue groomers just make it enjoyable to ski all day long!”
Here are some other Instagram photos from Pickett’s trip to Breckenridge. While visiting, they also managed to explore Vail and Keystone, sister mountains to Breckenridge.
