It’s no coincidence that Valentine’s Day falls in February. Locals fall in love with February and the accompanying powder days. With any luck, you’ll experience a powder day or two or three,

As you can probably guess, with the snow comes the cold. The average high temperature in February is 30.2 degrees F and wind plays a factor in Breck, especially if you’re heading above treeline.

Pack smart, dress in layers and – please wear goggles, no sunglasses on the slopes during a February storm. You’ll thank us later.

Mardi Gras usually happens in February, but check the calendar. We can only say for sure that Fat Tuesday happens 41 days prior to Easter – sometimes that’s in February, sometimes it’s in March. No matter which month, it’s always a good time in Breck.

A great locals tip is to ski on Super Bowl Sunday (which can happen in January or February depending on the year). The slopes will be busy in the morning, but usually clear out for the big game. For places to watch the game, check out our blog post.

February is when the season is in full swing. Breck Create should be offering a full slate of classes, happenings and shows. Weekends are busy, which can be uber fun. Just remember – to plan ahead, parking is limited and there’s not as much free parking this year. Find out where to park. Or, better yet, go #CarFreeBreck and take the bus or shuttle. Bonus: this is the free and environmentally-friendly option.

What to Do

Enjoy a romantic mid-week trip to Breck. Carve some turns in the morning on the mountain, retreat to the spa for a couples massage followed by a night out at Relish or South Ridge Seafood Grill.

Don’t forget about sleigh rides, Nordic skiing or Breck Create classes and events.
