#1: Whitewater Rafting

Thanks to the flow management program, we have guaranteed raft-able flows on the Arkansas River through mid-August and  whitewater rafting trips on the Arkansas River throughout August, even after the river returns to its native flow. In Breckenridge, we have plenty of rafting options! Families with children 4 years+ can enjoy a mellow family float trip, while those seeking a balance of moderate and exciting rapids will love paddling through Browns Canyon National Monument. Adrenaline seekers may opt for the wet and wild experience of navigating through the class 4+ whitewater on Numbers. #2: Biking

Until the snow begins to dust the hillsides (usually mid-to-late October), there’s no shortage of bike trails to hit in Breckenridge. From beginner pavement cruisers to tight, technical single-track, Breckenridge visitors have plenty of trails to choose from. According to MTBProject.com, there are 41 beginner trails, 54 intermediate trails, and 19 difficult trails to choose from in the Breckenridge area!

#3: Horseback Riding

Explore scenic Colorado the way it was originally discovered – on horseback! Breckenridge and the surrounding area offer a variety of horseback riding options for guests looking to jump in the saddle. Breckenridge Stables offer trail rides on the mountain/ ski resort, meandering through the woods. Other stables, like Rusty Spurr Ranch, offer rides through sprawling fields or ‘giddy-up’ at the base of the Collegiate Peaks with Mt. Princeton Stables!

#4: Ziplining


It’s almost flying! Zipline tours have been growing in popularity over the last few years and it’s no wonder why. #5:  Soak up the Sights & History of Breckenridge

A variety of historic tours –  saloons, ghost stories, gold panning, mining tours and more! –  are offered daily and Breckenridge museums offer an informative glimpse of the past. After learning about Breckenridge’s wonderful history, enjoy an outdoor picnic in one of our favorite Breckenridge picnic spots! We love the Blue River Plaza, a location that combines gorgeous mountain views, relaxing river sounds, and amazing people watching/ dog petting.
