Dogs love Carter Park

Let your pooch run free at Carter Park’s fenced-in dog area

As March continues with Spring Breaks and Easter right around the corner, there’s never been a better time to visit Breckenridge.  Hopefully you already read Part 1 and learned about some FREE (or almost free) activities you can do with your family while on vacation.  But why stop there?  Here are a few more tips for those looking to be budget conscious while still having fun when they’re not on the slopes:

First Stop: Fun for Fido – Carter Park Dog Park.  Yes, Carter Park is also home to the FREE sledding hill that provides hours of fun for family and friends.  But what about “man’s best friend”?  What’s a dog to do while in Breck?  Simple, head over to the Dog Park at Carter Park.  The dog park provides almost an acre of fully fenced land for you and Fido to have fun outdoors.  It’s open 24/7, and if you go at night, pick a clear starry night with lots of natural light from the moon, as there is no lighting.  And of course, be a responsible pet owner so that all of Fido’s friends can enjoy their romp too.  The cost:  FREE.

Best budget friendly breakfast on the mountain: Coppertop Breakfast Wraps at Beaver Run.  Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center, located at the base of Peak 9, offers visitors the option to buy lift tickets, lessons, and equipment.  Directly across the aisle from the Ski & Ride School ticket office is the Coppertop restaurant, which serves breakfast and lunch slope side, both indoors and outside on the deck.  Although the restaurant offers a full selection of breakfast options, pretend you’re a local and ask for the $1 Breakfast Wrap.  A warm, flour tortilla filled with scrambled eggs and cheese is the perfect way to start your morning.  And at that price, you can take a couple with you to eat later on the chair.  Yum!  The cost: $1 each.

Coppertop Deck at the Base of Peak 9

The sunny deck of the Coppertop Bar is the place to be in the Spring. Stop in during the morning hours for their delicious breakfast wrap

Taddeos Bar

The friendly staff at Taddeos welcomes you for a great Happy Hour

Budget Friendly Après Ski: Quandary Grill and Taddeo’s Ristorante Italiano. Breckenridge has lots of places to unwind after a great day of skiing or riding on the mountain.  And most of the restaurants and bars offer some sort of Après Ski specials.  Try checking out Quandary Grille or Taddeo’s Ristorante Italiano, both located at the base of Peak 9, in the Maggie Pond area.  Quandary typically has two-for-one appetizers and drink specials, and Taddeo’s offers appetizer and drink specials.  They are located close together, so if you have a lot of epic stories to tell after skiing, you might even want to visit both!  The cost: varies.

With specials like these, there’s never been a better time to visit Breckenridge.    For the most up to date information on deals and steals, make sure to check http://www.gobreck.com/
