Many people know Summit County local Maria Spotts for the fun-loving attitude and caring heart she brings to the Carriage House Early Learning Center in Breckenridge. But did you also know she is a talented face painter? Maria has been making party dreams come true since 2007. She loves providing face painting, magic tricks and balloon sculpting for benefits, fundraisers, farmer’s markets, concerts and, of course, birthday parties. Let your kids’ creative sides spin and blissfully brush at Ready Paint Fire, located at 323 North Main St., Breckenridge. The folks there encourage bring-your-own birthday cakes, and food and drinks are always welcome at either the pottery or canvas-painting party options. For reservations, call (970) 453-5765.

Invite your friends and family to the Breckenridge Recreation Center, where you can book fun birthday party packages. Party packages include: the Wet and Wild Party Package, which include party room and pool admission. The Rocking Party Package includes the party room and time on the climbing wall, complete with a certified instructor. The Pump it Up Party Package includes use of the party room and varying options for inflatables, mats and tunnels for the kiddos to run, jump and play on. The Party Room Package allows a maximum of 25 guests and includes use of the fridge and freezer.

In addition, the Ice Arena Party Package is available at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena. The basic package allows kids to skate for an hour and a half (skate rental included), hang out in the upstairs party room overlooking the rink, and watch a personalized message scroll across the rink’s scoreboard. Two inexpensive upgrades include ice cream, cake, sodas and pizza. Remember to book your package at least two weeks in advance. This two-hour party allows kids to play with helium balloons and all the wonderful exhibits in the children’s museum. Have you had the chance to explore a bear cave or go fishing in the jungle river recently? Your child’s imagination will come alive as they take off in a helicopter and get dressed up for their very own newscast. The cost is $100 during museum hours and $150 outside regular hours, which includes up to 10 children. For larger parties, add $5 per child (adults are free).
