The 25th Annual Hartford Ski Spectacular took place at Breckenridge Ski Resort Dec. 2-9. The event is one of the nation’s largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities and is hosted by Disabled Sports USA. More than 850 athletes participated in downhill races, Nordic skiing, clinics in curling, sled hockey, biathlon and Nordic skiing and networking events.

To watch these athletes compete is beyond inspiring. The balance, strength — and in some cases trust — they possess is spectacular. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them compete, and more importantly, having fun out there.
