If you love beer — especially when it’s paired with Oktoberfest in the mountains — and have some artistic talent, we want you to fire up your imagination, and start sketching.

Last year's Oktoberfest artwork.

Last year’s Oktoberfest artwork.

The Breckenridge Resort Chamber is accepting submissions for this year’s Oktoberfest stein art contest. Submissions are due at 5 p.m. Friday, March 22. Winning artwork will appear on the 2013 Breckenridge Oktoberfest steins, poster, merchandise, ads and other event collateral. Plus, the winner will score a prize package full of event merchandise.

The 19th annual Breckenridge Oktoberfest will be held Sept. 13-15. It’s one of the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in Colorado, attracting thousands of people to Main Street during the three-day street party.

Here are a few tastes of what images have won in past years, to help ignite your creative “brew’: fall leaves, images of Breckenridge Ski Resort, Bavarian-inspired landscapes, and, of course, beer. You can visit our Facebook page or stop by the Breckenridge Resort Chamber to view Oktoberfest artwork from previous years. And here’s another hint: Use a limited color palette, so we can more easily adapt the artwork to steins, clothing and vector art.

Concept sketches must not exceed 14″ x 17″. When you’re ready to submit, you can:

1) email them to gdalgliesh@gobreck.com, or

2) drop them off in person at the BRC office at 111 Ski Hill Road, Breckenridge, or

3) send them snail mail to: Breckenridge Resort Chamber, ATTN: Special Events, P.O. Box 1909, Breckenridge, CO 80424.

If you win, you’ll have to submit the final art at a poster size of 14″ x 17″.
